Don’t be fooled you can’t go all the way up in the tower so what’s the point? The whole idea was to go up in the tallest cathedral tower. And they still charge you $10.45 US dollars after you pay and they see the sign.(in pictures). Also the church is under construction. See pictures below. One of the pictures shows where the steps which are blocked to the top.

Ulm Muenster is much more than the world’s tallest Gothic church: it is a remarkable expression of medieval ambition, engineering and faith. Its extraordinary verticality makes an immediate impression, but the real fascination lies in the details, the proportions and the craftsmanship that reveal themselves as you explore the interior. The immense nave creates a powerful sense of space and light, while the stonework and sculptures show the extraordinary skill of the craftsmen who built this monument over centuries. Climbing the tower is demanding, but the panoramic view over Ulm and the surrounding landscape makes the effort worthwhile. A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, impressive not simply for its height, but for the vision and human achievement behind it. An essential visit for anyone interested in architecture, history and European culture. Around the church the people continue to have their activities and meeting and gifts!

Religion is good for two things - bringing some people together and making some gorgeous art. This church is all types of art mastered and combined so good, it is eternal. I definitely suggest going up, those 6 euros pay off so well. Also, y'all unsporty people, you still need to go as high as you can because you can't even imagine how pretty it is up there!

Founded in 1377 and funded entirely by its proud citizens, the Ulmer Münster stands as a towering monument to civic pride and faith. It is world-renowned for hosting the tallest church steeple on Earth. Architecturally, it is a sublime masterpiece of Gothic design, characterized by soaring spires, intricate stone tracery, and a vast, light-filled nave adorned with exquisite medieval choir stalls. For those who brave the 768 steps to the top of the spire, the reward is an unparalleled panoramic vista. The breathtaking view stretches across the red roofs of Ulm and the winding Danube, reaching all the way to the snow-capped Alps on a clear day. Beyond the stone and steps, the Münster evokes deep human emotion. As a sanctuary that survived the devastating bombings of World War II, its enduring silhouette reminds us of humanity’s unyielding resilience, infinite aspiration, and our eternal quest to reach for the heavens.

A must see historic Church. There are some scaffoldings both in and outside of the building, so not everything is visible. But the architecture is impressive. Do not forget the shop, they have some unique memorabilia. On the roof is a bird, the original can be seen in a display inside the church (the Ulmer Spatz). Unfortunately the direct surroundings of the church look like a post-war rebuilt area lacking charm or vision.

(Un)fortunately this cathedral has been under renovation for years and hence a complete view is not possible. However, it is an impressive cathedral in all aspects especially the stained glass windows are breathtakingly beautiful and they are plentiful. The tower in itself is worth a visit and all in all visiting Ulm without seeing the cathedral is really not an option. To my big surprise it is possible to buy replaced artifacts from the cathedral renovation. Prices are not visible but open for discussions I guess with the office.

An absolutely breathtaking landmark and a must-see in Ulm. The cathedral’s architecture is stunning, and the details inside are just as impressive as the exterior. The atmosphere is peaceful and inspiring, whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply enjoying a remarkable place. The surrounding area is also lovely for a walk and taking photos.

Ulm Minster is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic architecture and holds the distinction of having the 2nd tallest church tower in the world. Standing at 161.53 meters. It's interior is very impressive and magnificent with stained glass window and majestic Hall.
