The place is definitely a one time visit. You can get stunning views from the top, one can also spot the Köln Cathedral from their. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

It's a beautiful little castle. The rooms aren't big as I expected, but still it is beautiful inside as well. It wasn't easy to visit while pregnant and with a baby in a stroller, because you aren't allowed to take the stroller with you, even there is everywhere a carpet on top of the original floor. One old guy who works there wasn't friendly at all. They could tell you before you buy a ticket!

There is a parking area for visitors with a reasonable fee (€2 for up to 3 hours), followed by a 10-minute uphill walk to the castle. Along the way, you’ll find several restaurants and souvenir shops. The entrance fee to the castle is €10 per person. There is also a souvenir shop near the entrance, although the prices are a bit higher than those at souvenir shops in other tourist attractions. The castle itself is beautiful and offers stunning views of the Rhine River from the top. The upper part of the castle is accessible via a very narrow spiral staircase, which can be a bit challenging, especially when it’s crowded. Inside the castle, you’ll find beautifully decorated stained-glass windows, as well as impressive paintings on the walls and ceilings. Some of the furniture has been recreated to match the original pieces, and the reproductions are very well made. There is a restaurant inside the castle, and behind it you’ll find a lovely garden area with a beautiful fountain and plenty of benches where visitors can relax. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting this beautiful castle.

Amazing experience, gorgeous views. Steeped in history across hundreds of years. The grounds are immaculate, adjacent to the Rhine River.. a little hike up if you prefer not to pay for the train but well worth it.

Schloss Drachenburg is a breathtaking 19th-century masterpiece that perfectly captures the essence of a Rhine River fairytale. While it looks like a medieval fortress from afar, the interior reveals an opulent private villa filled with vibrant frescoes and stunning stained glass. The panoramic views of the Rhine Valley from its terraces are arguably the best in the region, making the steep walk or the charming rack railway ride up the hill absolutely worth the effort for any traveler.
