This museum is such a gem! I stopped by here to pick up a souvenir for my dad! Please drop off your firefighter family members here for firefighter camp. A heads up is that they only take cash.

If you've ever wondered how many fire alarms the human eye can actually detect, you'll find the answer here. In the Berlin Fire Department Museum, historical equipment, flashing boxes, and rusty relays are piled up like at a flea market specializing in fire protection. Lovingly arranged, but unfortunately without a common thread. If you're hoping for a dramatic staging of Berlin's great fires, you'll find instead: things. Lots of things. Without explanation, but charming. The "Krebsjauche" at least provides a small highlight amidst the romanticism of fire engines and the parade of relics. A guide would probably be worth its weight in gold; you're standing there like a deer in the headlights. Still, for 5 euros you can't complain. And somehow it was nice to visit a place again that, completely unimpressed by storytelling, target group focus, and museum education, simply does what it does best: put stuff out there.

Visited with kids 8yrs and 6yrs and a baby(who slept through most of in the stroller🙈). The kids and ourselves enjoyed the museum immensely. The collection and narration showcasing tools used in different time periods were impressive to my kids. And the short movies in different areas showing how it all works were very informative. The staff were delightful ( even indulged us of the English speaking- I appreciated this effort 🙏🙏🙏, it made our day). The practical areas for kids were lovely- trying the car was the highlight 🤣. Cherry on the top was when we finished the tour, about to cross the road and a fire track was returning- waved to the children and they were excited to link what they saw and the real people in uniforms. Tip: have cash to pay at entrance €12 for family ticket and €1 to use for locker. Thank you, we will be back.

My visit to the Berlin Firefighter's Museum was an absolute delight, even without kids!
