Exceptional Experience!! We were thrilled to discover there was a Michelin restaurant in Passau, and even more thrilled that we had the chance to experience everything Marcel von Winckelmann has to offer. We travelled from Canada and dined in mid-September, the evening before we were about to take a river-boat-bike cruise on the Danube. Part of the reason we decided to spend the night in Passau was because of this restaurant; we made an excellent choice to participate in the Chef’s Table Experience, with wine tasting. We had an amazing multi-course meal that was not only delicious, but intentional. The entire evening, start to finish, was flawless. Delicious courses with exceptional wine pairings in a beautiful atmosphere; but what really stood out to us was the personal level of service that we received from Marcel, Stefan, and Nico. The entire team is knowledgeable, engaging and takes the time to share the food and wine stories, and added amazing personal connections with their guests. The service was as exceptional as the food. Our dinner was one of the highlights of our entire European trip. We would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone who is in the Passau

Our visit to Restaurant Marcel von Winckelmann was nothing short of extraordinary. We came for the Valentine’s Day menu, and what we experienced was far more than just a dinner—it was a true culinary performance. Every course felt like part of a carefully choreographed show: highly professional, incredibly creative, and absolutely delicious. The attention to detail, the harmony of flavors, and the passion behind each dish were unmistakable. You don’t simply eat here—you experience the food with all your senses. What made the evening even more special was the incredible friendliness of the chef and the entire team. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with small, genuine conversations throughout the evening. Each dish was thoughtfully explained, giving insight into the ingredients, techniques, and ideas behind it all. It was not only fascinating but truly inspiring—we left with new ideas and motivation to experiment more with food at home. Each bite was a joy, and despite being completely full by the end of the evening, we never wanted it to stop.
