Kölner Zoo is an amazing and huge zoo with so much to see and explore. The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, including elephants, lions, tigers, monkeys and many more. One of the highlights is the aquarium, which is definitely worth visiting and adds even more to the experience. The zoo is well-maintained, family-friendly and offers plenty of opportunities to spend an enjoyable day surrounded by wildlife. Whether you're visiting with children or on your own, there is something interesting around every corner and you can rent a cart price of €5 for kids. I highly recommend buying your tickets online before your visit, as they are usually cheaper. There are also discounts available for children, students, elderly visitors and disabled guests, making it an affordable day out for everyone. A fantastic attraction in Cologne that I would happily visit again!

Great zoo! We visited on a Sunday and had a great time. The zoo is very well laid out, the staff were friendly, and all the animals appeared healthy, relaxed, and well cared for. A nice touch was the dinosaur sculptures placed throughout the zoo, which added an extra element of fun to the visit. A few things to keep in mind, as non German speakers, we found it difficult to access information about the animals. The enclosure information boards were only in German, apart from some basic details such as weight, height, and lifespan. The maps and guides were also not available in English, so we had to rely on Google Translate. Another downside was the lack of water fountains or free drinking water stations. Water was only available for purchase at a few locations, costing €3.55 at kiosks and €3.80 from vending machines, which felt quite expensive. Since a full visit can easily take 3–4 hours, it's a good idea to bring plenty of water and snacks with you. Lastly, there are photographers throughout the zoo who take pictures of visitors that can later be purchased from a photo booth. However, we found the price quite steep €11 for what was, in our opinion, a fairly average photo. Ove

We really enjoyed our day here. Lots of sitting places and playgrounds throughout the park, cafes with a nice view and what surprised us most lots of different birds species presented in this zoo. It was a pleasant surprise for my daughter as she is currently into different birds. There is a ln aquarium and botanic garden nearby, so can easily spend the whole day there.

I had a great experience at the Cologne Zoo! The outdoor layout is excellent; it's designed so intuitively that you can easily find your way around without constantly checking a map. It’s clear that the animals have a generous amount of space, and I was impressed by the variety—many of the animals seemed larger and healthier than those I’ve seen at other zoos. The biggest surprise was the Aquarium/Terrarium building. It’s not just fish and coral; they have an incredible collection of reptiles, insects, and some truly beautiful large spiders. Definitely worth a visit!

Great zoo, very spacious and easy to walk around with kids and a buggy. There’s a good variety of animals and plenty of places to sit, eat, and take breaks. The highlight for us was definitely the seal show — absolutely fantastic! We’ve never seen anything like it before and the kids loved it. The dinosaur area was a big hit, especially for my daughter. She was so excited seeing them. Another thing we really loved was the play areas — they are everywhere and quite big, which made the whole experience even better for kids. It’s not just about walking around, they can actually stop and play throughout the zoo. Overall a really enjoyable experience and perfect for families. Would definitely recommend if visiting Cologne. Best Zoo i have visited so far… ❤️
