A piece of self grandification from KaiserWilli? Yes. But there's a lot of interest too. Not cheap to get in €15 pp. but no need to book in advance after all. It's big and and colourful and if you are tired and want to do a lot of sitting in your looking around, or it's pouring outside, this place is good. Audio guide us free and helps understand what you see. If you have no idea about Christian symbols and meanings, the audio will give you a good help. The Crypt! What a sight, row after row of royalty, in coffins. The ones for children had particular pathos. The 12 o'clock short service in German but with the massive organ in action. If you have a little spirituality, just sit back and soak a "something spiritual" in. And a walk on the dome rim. Cafe and toilets too. It was a nice surprise for me too.

This building is exceptional especially when the sun shines on it, and with the grounds around it including the fountain you can spend several hours here just admiring the architecture. There are plenty of seating with some in shaded areas. And with the Berlin TV Tower in the background you can really get some unusual photos.

Lovely cathedral with audio guide, including a kid version in English. Be sure to hit green button during any long pauses because they are giving you time to look. I forgot... So I missed some info in the amazing crypt. Take your time and enjoy.

Amazing cathedral! Very awe inspiring. Its also very cool inside. I like how it's so quiet and peaceful. The crypt was my favourite part with the the tooms. Lots of interesting historical facts and a must see if your visiting Berlin

Despite living and working in Berlin for nearly two years, I only just made it inside the Dom today, and it is stunning. It is incredibly well-maintained for a building over a century old. At €15, I think this is better value than the TV Tower if a city view is your priority. Like the TV Tower, you get a full 360° view, but here it is an outdoor walk around the dome. Since most of the walkway has no safety mesh—just a high stone railing—you can get perfectly clear photos. In contrast, the TV Tower costs twice as much and the view is behind curved glass, which often creates reflections that make photography difficult. That said, the TV Tower still offers a different vibe and experience. Be ready to climb 270 steps to reach the top. I heard they recently installed a lift, but be prepared for the stairs just in case. Also, backpacks aren't allowed on the dome walk, but there are plenty of lockers available once you check in. Make sure to take your camera and essentials out before storing your bag. I definitely recommend buying your ticket online to skip the queue. Your ticket also includes a free headset for the audio guide, which provides some interesting history during the tour. J

Worth the tour and ticket. Really nice architecture and the dome view is amazing. Also accessing the crypt is really interesting. Make sure to make it part of your tour. I don’t normally pay for entrances but this one is worth it. You also get free audio tour.

Berlin Cathedral is one of the most impressive landmarks in the city and definitely worth visiting. The exterior alone is stunning, with its massive dome and detailed architecture standing proudly on Museum Island. Inside, the cathedral is equally beautiful — grand interiors, intricate decorations, and a very peaceful atmosphere. One of the highlights is climbing up to the dome, where you get an amazing panoramic view of Berlin. The climb has quite a number of steps, but the view at the top makes it completely worth it. The location is also perfect, surrounded by other major attractions, so it’s easy to include in your itinerary. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just want a great view of the city, Berlin Cathedral is a must-visit. Tip: Try to visit earlier in the day to avoid crowds and take your time exploring both inside and outside.

Breathtaking. Inside and out. It is right next to the museums of museum island. Particularly Alte(old) museum. They have a free coat and bag check, a small gift shop. They accept donations. One of the most beautiful Cathedrals we have been to.
