Located at Triftsperrstraße 15, 94034 Passau, Zur Triftsperre operates as a restaurant serving Passau in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 0851 51162. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, triftsperre.de.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,157 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded restaurants in Passau.
Passau is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Passau is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I would like to share my experience with you. This place is very nice and very clean and the food is amazingly delicious. We had a one night stay here. So we checked in at 15:00 than 16:00 they start serving dinner. Dinner is something you should not miss and you definitely have to try their traditional meals. In their menu you will find only few I would say is variety so you can choose. The salad that comes with the dish is something else. Oh trust me you never had a salad better than what you will try here. And the chef himself came to ask if we like the food. The serving area is very calm and warm and it makes you feel so relaxed. It's a rustic place with a history. I will attach pictures. Oh let me advice you on trying their pumpkin soup. Definitely try the pumpkin soup. About the room i can say that it was just perfect. We had our daughter with us so for us it was great to have an extra sofa bed in the room. We all had a great sleep. It is a quiet place and the room was very clean. They do breakfast as well. On breakfast you can pick from a variety of salami, cheese and few varieties of cereals, yogurt jam and so on. Plenty of choices. Very good and fresh. I do recommend this
