Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Regensburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

One of our favorite meals on our vacation meals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent meal.

First and last time I will go there. We had a reservation for five. The food was good but the service was horrendous. The mid-age lady who attended us in the patio took very long (over 20 mins) in between each table visit, took away our silverware and gave it to another table, brought out the food and we waited a lot for silverware to be able to eat, and worse of all... when it was time to pay she stated we were making her work more than she had to because each person wanted to pay for their own meal.

We had a quick trip to Regensburg and after a while day of walking, we decided to have dinner here. It is a traditional Bavarian restaurant with some interesting stuff on the menu. Overall not bad. Service was not bad, they were pretty fast with our order, steak was good, Schnitzel also, but my meat was a little bit on the chewable side, plus I wouldn't say no to some extra sauce with that meat. Desserts were fine and tasty. Can get pricey if you are not careful. Not bad.

Reserve the table before you show up, it’s easier than waiting. This place severed one of the best vegan/ vegetarian food. Starter - beetroot Capriccio, My bf is a vegan so he ate Beetroot Knödle, I ordered traditional Käsespätzle as main dish. Each dish was amazing and very freshly made. They did had vegan dessert for us. Add one star more for kind and quick service. This cool Ambient adds on your comfort there. They do have outdoor seating, good for summer. Very much recommended to visit in Regensburg.
