Käppele Sanctuary is absolutely beautiful. The moment you walk inside, it feels like you’ve stepped into a different world. There is so much peace and calm here that you instantly forget about everything outside. The church is not very big, but honestly, that doesn’t matter. The details inside are incredible. Everywhere you look, there is something beautiful to admire, the paintings, the decorations, the architecture, and the light coming through the windows. You can really feel how much care and craftsmanship went into creating this place. I could easily spend hours here just sitting in silence and taking it all in. It’s one of those places that makes you slow down and appreciate beauty.

Very cool walk up to the church with stations of the cross. Also, inside the church is probably the quietest place I've ever been in my life! Absolutely incredible! Lots of stairs to get up there, but very worth the trip!

One of the most beautiful chapels I have seen. Baroque style. The Kreuzweg on the way up is a must. The climb is really worth it, especially for Catholics.

One of the most beautiful church I have visited across Germany. A pilgrimage site dating 17th century located on the parallel hillside of Marienberg fortress. Can be reached through a walk from Löwenbrücke. It can be tiring to walk all those steep stairs but the panoramic view of Würzburg that it provides is worth all the efforts. On the way up you cross 14 stations depicting the story of the cross carried by Jesus with beautifully carved sculptures. The forest behind the church is worth taking a walk. Autumn time is specially recommended as it becomes exceptionally beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous! Easily the most beautiful church I have seen. There are probably around 150 steps up to the church. There are about 15 spaces to park in on the street below. There is some handicap parking behind the church, but not sure how it works as I didn’t use it.

Never seen architecture to take you up the hill to a church like that. A set of stair cases, statues and stories guide you up the hill. Make sure you are steady on your feet if you decide to take the stairs, there are many of them! Once on top a golden interior can be admired.

Beautiful little baroque church with a fantastic view of the city. The interior is exquisitely decorated, it could just use a very thorough cleaning to restore it to the gold and white splendour it must have had in earlier times. But even now a sight well worth the walk up the hill.
