When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.
No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. The listed phone number is 030 200049550. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,081 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded hotels in Berlin.
Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. Getting around Berlin is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Berlin and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Great hotel relatively close to Berlin's main train station and transport hub. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very decent and spacious enough for two people. The facilities are great, and the gym was perfect for our needs, well-equipped. The rooftop is very cool. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed my stay at URBAN LOFT Berlin for the most part. The biggest pro is the location of the hotel, being that it’s within a short 10 minute walk to the main central train station. This made getting around the city so easy and convenient. The lobby area is very neatly decorated and inviting as a peer working / lounge area. Most times I couldn’t tell whether the people there at all hours were hotel guests or just random people coming to get work done. The room was minimal and efficient. I unpacked and felt comfortable almost instantly, as I needed a nap from my red eye flight upon check in. The biggest pro is the location of the hotel, being that it’s within walking distance to the main train station. Initially they assigned me to Floor 1, but graciously moved me to a higher floor upon request. The hotel staff wasn’t the friendliest, but coming from America, I came to realize that Germans aren’t necessarily the friendliest people in general. The bed was comfortable for the most part, but the comforter was odd. They gave me two twin comforters instead of one that fit the full bed. The water temperature was EXTREME! From iceberg cold to inferno hot. The shower head was pretty gros

Very spartan experience. Small rooms, no chair, no desk. Asked for bathrobe, slippers, washcloth and the response was no, no, and no. Asked to exchange a €50 note into smaller denominations, response was that they don’t keep cash. Simple buffet breakfast is €19, very little variety and always a line at the coffee machine. Directed to self check in upon arrival, page after page of data entry on a tablet and at the last page a message tells you to talk to the desk attendant anyway. Not what I want after a long day’s travel to get here. On the plus side, good location, 10min walk to Berlin Hbf, and multiple good restaurants nearby.

Disappointing experience – Urban Loft Berlin Overall, our stay was below expectations, mainly because of the hotel’s cooling system. When we arrived, the room temperature was around 28°C and we were initially told that the air conditioning was under repair. Later, however, we understood that the hotel does not use a traditional air conditioning system, but rather a centralized ventilation/cooling system linked to the outside temperature. After our complaint, the staff kindly changed our room to an internal one, where there was less direct sunlight. However, even there, the room remained too warm and not comfortable enough for sleeping properly. We understand the hotel’s sustainability and energy-efficiency concept, but for this price level, I find it unacceptable that guests are not clearly informed in advance that the rooms cannot be effectively cooled or individually controlled like with real air conditioning. When a hotel advertises “air conditioning,” guests reasonably expect a system that can actually cool the room during warm days. In our case, this was not the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is modern and well designed. That makes i
