Shops in Germany display fixed prices with 19% VAT (7% on food and books) already included, so the figure on the label is what you pay at the till. Cards are accepted in most stores, though smaller shops may take only Girocard or cash, and bottles and cans carry a Pfand deposit that the machine by the entrance refunds. Visitors from outside the EU can reclaim VAT on larger purchases with an export form stamped at the airport before departure.

Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 6 am–9 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 59068426. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak.

Its Google rating stands at 2.4 out of 5 from 62 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Tried to go to quickly grab a water 40 minutes before listed closing time and was denied entry. Employee at door holding the door shut and only letting out the people inside leaving, didn’t kindly say “so sorry we are closing early today” or anything of the sort, instead rudely held the door shut and shuck her head at me. I stood there for 5 seconds as she ignored me before I knocked on the glass door and I asked if they were closed and questioned that it said 10pm close and she then rudely wagged her finger at me and started ignoring me again. Very odd interaction honestly.

The shop clerk was on the phone on loudspeaker during our interaction resulting in her getting my order wrong in the first instance. I repeated my what I wanted and waited a little longer for it to go through the lady through her conversation. I was clearly in a hurry - as it often happens at train or bus stations, yet the lady still on her call struggling to get the till to work. I left without getting anything, as I couldn't wait longer and miss my bus.

Ordered Laugenecke with Gouda and mini-cheesecakes. They were fresh and delicious. The Gentleman serving at the bakery part was very nice. Also there is a wide range of cold drinks. The line was very long though. Probably, because nearby Lidl was closed due to holiday.

Date: July 27 Today, I experienced something I wish no one ever has to go through. I simply asked for a coffee, and the way the staff member treated me—with clear contempt and racism—was both shocking and deeply hurtful. No one should be made to feel less than human for simply ordering a drink. This is not just about bad service; this is about dignity. I sincerely hope that those responsible will take this matter seriously. Respect should never be optional.

Awful experience!! A zero star experience. I was waiting in line with my 86-year-old father. Then our turn came to be serviced and I tried to pay with some change (coins) so as to get rid of them for we were tourists and they were a bit heavy and annoying to carry with no reason but after no longer than 10 seconds the cashier (a quite short, scarcely black haired man in his mid-forties, with a very light mustache and beard and black eyes) got impatient immediately saying that I was taking too long because I had had him waste 10 minutes of his time, so he allowed the lady behind me to lean by my side and surpass me and he serviced her first, showing all kind of disrespect to my father and me with that rude attitude. After showing my sad surprise, I finished to pay my father’s order and wanted to make my own order which I hardly could because he was claiming all the time. After charging me I claimed for my receipt but he wouldn’t answer (saying he couldn’t speak English). However, when he realized I was trying to check my bank’s app to verify how much I had been charged, he threw me the receipt and started shouting at me (in English!!) saying that I was disturbing him, calling me “ma
