For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:00–23:00. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Thomas-Eck Berlin on 030 3128742; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, thomaseck.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 3,367 reviews, which is a strong result for a deutsche in Berlin and suggests consistent service.
Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My wife and I used to visit this restaurant regularly because we genuinely loved the food. Until today, every visit had been a great experience. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. We had to wait almost 10 minutes just to receive the menu. When the waiter came to take our order, he was rude from the start. The most disappointing part happened when I went to pay by card. The payment terminal prompted me to leave a tip, which I chose not to do. As we were leaving, the waiter loudly asked, “Was everything good?” I was surprised, but answered “Yes” and continued toward the exit. To our shock, he followed my wife and me and said out loud, “This is not nice.” Not nice? Really? What is truly not nice is making customers feel pressured to leave a tip and then publicly confronting them when they choose not to. This was one of our favorite places to enjoy a good meal, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Sadly, after what happened today, we will not be returning.

Just jumped in without a reservation and shared a table with a couple guy. I ordered a knuckle pork, very delicious, soft and smooth to eat, since it was perfectly cooked. Huge dish, best to have it in two person. Great experience.

A very German restaurant in Berlin which turned out is not so easy to find. I tried Schnitzel with mushroom sauce and was very delicious, huge portions, can be shared by two people without any hesitation. The service I would not say is bad, or superb but rather much suitable to the spirit of the place. My experience was very good, the atmosphere, food, location is very good. Not sure why rating falls behind Also quite cheap, 20-25 eur per person for a very full dinner
