The Sanctuary is a yoga studio in München, Bayern. It is listed at Gabelsbergerstraße 77, 2. RGB, 80333 München, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as coaching center, massagezentrum, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
For beauty and wellness businesses, it is worth asking how long the treatment takes, whether the quoted price includes VAT and what the cancellation policy is. Popular slots fill quickly, so book early. German saunas and thermal baths have their own etiquette: most sauna areas are textile-free (no swimwear), you sit on your towel, you shower before every session, and the Aufguss, the attendant's steam ritual, runs to a posted timetable.
Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 07:00–22:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 54846569. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is thesanctuary.me, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 342 reviews, which is a strong result for a yoga studio in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

A studio in the middle of the city where life and work can become unpredictable should be time flexible. It think we are not in a secluded retreat in the middle of the mountain where we can just think about yoga and meditation all day. Some people are doctors, researchers and have jobs that really become unpredictable and you cannot just drop every responsibility to show up perfectly on time to a yoga class. I am sure no-one in the class would have their incredibly deep meditation disturbed by someone quickly coming in and everyone would understand besides these incredibly serious and super professional yoga teachers. Of course their career and craft is much more important than all of ours. Be realistic and remember what yoga classes in Munich are for, giving stressed people in a big city relaxation and a quick escape not stressing them out even more. I am a regular at this place and it’s the first time I get treated like this. All in all tho some teachers really are lovely and understanding.

Absolutely beautiful studio. Was welcomed by the wonderful staff and he walked me around since it was my first time. I tired out Ben’s mobility class which was packed and clearly seem to be a favourite. If I need quieter sessions, there’s a lot of other English sessions so I would definitely try them out in the future. Airy, super clean and wonderful people.

I trained at this incredible yoga academy and can honestly say it was a transformative experience. The teachers are truly exceptional, with deep knowledge not only of postures but also of yoga philosophy, mindset, and spiritual practice. They pay careful attention to every detail, including physiology, the business of yoga, building self-confidence, and teaching techniques, all while showing warmth and genuine care. Their guidance encourages growth, self-discovery, and a deeper connection to my practice, especially as I was really insecure about teaching in front of people. I wholeheartedly recommend the Academy of Sanctuary to anyone looking for a meaningful and inspiring yoga training journey. I also recommend the yoga classes. I personally love the variety of class options, from mobility to Yin yoga. Each class is truly unique and has a significant impact on my daily life, both physically and mentally.

I really wanted to love this session because the teacher was so sweet and wonderful, but the studio was just too packed. There were so many people packed in rows that someone's legs were nearly in my face, and I had no room to extend my arms sideways without risking hitting a wall or another person. Yoga requires focus, but I spent the entire session stressed about knocking into someone else.Even though the instructor was great, I won't be back because a cramped environment just doesn't allow for a proper practice. I hope management considers reducing the number of spots per class,

This space has helped Munich feel like a home to me! The instructors are all so kind & knowledgeable. As a Canadian who recently moved to Germany, it's nice to have English classes offered as well. I highly recommend - especially the early morning classes 💕
