The services are terrible, the webpage to make online reservations does not work, for that reason I am forced to call the service number to make an appointment, when someone finally picks up the phone, as usual in Nuremberg, no one speaks any other language besides German and procedes to shout to me before hanging the phone on my face. Please start recording the phone calls to improve quality, control and accountability as there are no consequences for impoliteness nor rudeness. Also offering support in another language as option like in other developed countries could be helpful. I try my best to learn German but be realistic...

One star is still too much for the Bürgeramt Nürnberg. It’s a very bad situation. There are never any appointments available, and even when you go with an appointment, you still have to wait more than 30–40 minutes. The waiting area is always full of people. The system really needs to be improved to make things easier for everyone. Every Wednesday, the line is longer than 100 people. You have to wait just to get a token, and after that, you have to wait the whole day for your number to be called.

My registration went quickly and with no problems at all. I didn’t have to wait long either. A worker at counter 28 was professional, friendly and even gave me Gutscheine (coupons) which was very nice.

I completed today my Wohnungsanmeldung at Bürgeramt Mitte, and the experience was much smoother than my first time. The online appointment system is a huge improvement—no more waiting in line for hours in the cold! The wait outside was minimal and the staff was well-organized. The lady at Schalter 4 was warm and friendly, making the process quick and efficient, especially if you have all the right documents. German is my fourth language, but she made the conversation easy and clear. Overall, a well-managed and much-improved experience!

The Bürgeramt opens at 10:00AM. This is what the queue looks like at 10:10AM. There are HUNDREDS of people waiting in line. The task that I came here to do could’ve easily been done online in less than 5 minutes, but the request isn’t available on their website and it isn’t possible to book an appointment for it either. Note the ironic “Digitales Amt” sign on the building. 😅
