Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Nürnberg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Amazing views that are well worth the113 steps (by my count). I really enjoyed the pictures showing the pre war structures and post ear damage.

Sinwellturm is one of the main towers inside Nuremberg Castle 🇩🇪🏰 and access is included with the castle entrance ticket 🎫✨ The climb to the top is done via a long spiral staircase 🌀😅, which can be a bit tiring, but the stairs are wide enough that you can easily stop for a break without getting in other visitors’ way 👍 At the top, you get a nice panoramic view of Nuremberg’s old town 🌇📸 with red rooftops, churches, and historic streets stretching across the city. The tower itself also has a strong medieval atmosphere ⚔️🛡️ and feels very historical. That said, the experience was good but not quite as impressive as I expected 🤔 The view is nice, but it is not necessarily a “must-climb” attraction if you are short on time ⏰💦 Still, since it is included in the ticket, it can be a fun extra activity while exploring the castle 😊🍺

The ultimate viewpoint in Nuremberg! Iconic round tower with a stunning vista of the Old Town. The interior historical exhibit is very moving. A must-do for anyone visiting the Kaiserburg

Sinwellturm rises powerfully within the Kaiserburg complex, its perfectly round form making it one of the most striking towers in Nuremberg. Built in the late 13th century, it was both a symbol of imperial authority and a defensive watchtower. Climbing the narrow wooden spiral staircase is an experience in itself, and once at the top, the reward is a sweeping 360° view across the city’s rooftops, churches, and beyond to the Franconian countryside. From here, the scale of Nuremberg truly comes into focus. Inside, displays include historic drawings and photographs showing the destruction of the Old Town during World War II, which adds a poignant layer to the panorama before you. Both historically significant and visually unforgettable, this tower is one of the highlights of visiting the castle.

The best point for a 360 degrees view of the old town. Take care, there isn't an elevator, you have to climb some pretty steep and narrow staircase. There's a small fee to pay for the access that also grants you the entry to the museum and to the "deep well".
