Shimai is a chinesisch in München, Bayern. It is listed at Theresienstraße 87, 80333 München-Maxvorstadt, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–2:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 66549268. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, shimai.de.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 1,335 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinesisch in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Today, the four of us had dinner at this wonderful Vietnamese restaurant. The interior is beautiful, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The Summer Rolls were especially impressive—they were not only the most beautifully presented I’ve ever seen, but also the best I’ve ever tasted. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food and a great dining experience!

Went here on a Sunday evening and sat inside. Loved the decor and vibe. They have lovely cocktails and we really enjoyed their “tapas” style starters! Just keep in mind the mains are quite large so in combination with starters it can be a lot of food. Also very vegetarian/vegan friendly. Would definitely come back again.

This restaurant has topped my expectations.. the Mango sticky rice-CoCkTail! was amazing 🤩 (unfortunately with the jasmine tea i wasn’t that lucky, it tasted nothing like jasmine but a nice plain green tea) The starters were delicious and the main dishes too. Huge portions, balanced rich sauces, top quality. (I chose the Roll it yourself- plate with crispy duck and it was the jackpot!) calm charming atmosphere and the stuff was very friendly.😊 definitely a recommendation

A great Vietnamese spot tucked away in the heart of the Maxvorstadt. There was lots of outdoor seating available with a retractable roof and heaters for chilly or rainy months. The food was great, especially the papaya salad as well as the veggie dumplings and avocado and eggplant salads. The organic butter tofu was delicious as well. The service was very welcoming and friendly and the interior decor of the restaurant was also very modern and well done. All in all a great spot to get your Vietnamese food fix!

Delicious food. We had one starter, main dish and drink (with alcohol) per person and shared a dessert. Spent 50-60 per person. Only one starter would have been better because we almost couldn’t finish the main dishes. It’s worth the price for the quality of the food and the excellent service of the people.
