Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–3 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 12257090. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, doan-restaurant.de.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 1,509 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinesisch in München and suggests consistent service.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Details on this page come from public sources and may change; confirm anything important by phone before relying on it. Business owners can claim the listing to keep it up to date.

Great food. Slow service. I don't know why all waiters can't take you order. Apparently this is common in Germany, however when you have been waiting 30 mins to give your order, but once placed the food came very quickly.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Soan. The restaurant itself is beautiful, offering a chic yet welcoming atmosphere with a lovely ambiance. The service was absolutely perfect—attentive, warm, and highly professional throughout the entire evening. As for the food and drinks, everything was exceptional. We started with some cocktails (both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are beautifully flavored and delicious). When the main dishes arrived, the presentation was gorgeous; the plates are so beautifully arranged that you eat with your eyes before even taking a bite! Every dish is clearly prepared with immense care, and the flavors are incredibly rich and savory. To top it all off, they have a good selection of Japanese whiskies, which was the perfect way to conclude a wonderful meal. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back

Excellent food, flavors were unique like caramelled peanut sauce (except the teriyaki sauce was average), loved the plum wine, had the menu for two. The service was odd: our waiter did not deliver drinks (a glass of water) for 20 min and the food was served slowly, took 2.5 hours for 3 courses. Which was us waiting for food not us eating slowly. The waitress seemed annoyed when I asked for tap water and charged us 4 euro a glass instead, including 4 euro refills. Odd...no communication perhaps because we don't speak German (or vietnamese?). All in all, beautiful atmosphere and staff were busy clearing our plates and looking at us but no one asked if we ever wanted a drink or explained why food took 30-40 min each course to come out.

Could not recommend this place enough. First you are completely enchanted walking in and seeing the decor. Every detail down to the napkin is grand. You are treated like royalty the entire service. The food was outstanding. I had the crispy duck pad Thai and it is probably the best i've ever had. Strongly recommend making a reservation as it is very popular and fills up every night. We were 2 and we got there at 5pm so they were able to squeeze us in. They provided gifts and service beyond our expectations.
