For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Good food and good sized portions for one person! I expected things that didn't have the spicy sign to not be spicy... but be aware that the beef rice dish is rather hot 🥵😂 However, the mild beef noodle soup was AMAZING and the lichee juice was also pretty good 😊 !! We (3 people) ate at around 19:00 on a Friday without worry as there were plenty of tables. But not ideal for parties bigger than 4 people.

It is my second time at Uncle Chen, no queue this time, the service was relatively fast. The waitress has been very friendly and patient as I was waiting for a friend. Foods were tasty but a bit too salty for me.

We had the tender beef rice dish (13,50€) which consists of a tender beef brisket served with onions, pak choi and spring onions and rice, keep in mind it’s a little spicy even though it isn’t mentioned on the menu. The portions were very generous and the staff were attentive, the food arrived very quick! We went at 1pm on a Monday and there were a couple of free tables but I’ve heard it can get pretty busy.

A nice restaurant that can get quite busy during peak hours, but still maintains a good atmosphere. The beef noodles arrived quickly despite the crowd, and the medium spice level was perfectly balanced. The food was enjoyable overall, and the portion sizes are generous. I would definitely come back.

I absolutely love this place! Even with all the hype, it truly lives up to it. Everything we ordered was excellent. Uncle Chen will definitely see me again soon. I’m still thinking about those shrimp dumplings in chili oil and those perfectly chewy hand-pulled noodles. But the real stars? The mini baos. Honestly, I was inhaling them! They are incredibly tasty. I’m getting hungry again just writing this review 😂 Can’t wait to come back!
