About Poseidon

Located at Maria-Ward-Straße 24, 80638 München-Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, Poseidon operates as a griechisch serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–2:30 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 17094466. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, poseidon-muenchen.info.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 2,601 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded griechisch, türkisch & mediterran in München.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Great restaurant! We truly enjoyed our meal there. The food was excellent, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The owner was especially kind and generous, taking the time to chat with us and ensure everything was perfect. We really loved the entire experience — from the warm atmosphere to the delicious dishes. It was a memorable dining experience, and we would definitely come back again.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on a whim after visiting Nymphenburg. I am serious when I say it was one of the best meals we had in Europe. Excellent Greek food with friendly staff. Their English could be a little bit better, but that’s my fault for not learning a bit of German before traveling here. We had the Giro and Athen Teller dishes. I will say, the Giro was not what I expected, coming from American expectations. I thought I’d be getting a sandwich of some sort, but it was more of a meat dish. Large portions and wonderful. The Athen Teller was more of a combo plate, again with large portions. Honestly, if I were to return, this is the dish I’d get. The flavors were just wonderful. The owner (I believe) also came by our table regularly to make sure we were happy.

It would be a shame to come to Munich and not try this restaurant. The lamb fillet was really delicious and fresh, the taste of the food was excellent. I cannot criticize at all. The restaurant was elegant and pleasant and the friendly behavior of the staff completed everything.

After visiting the palace, this seemed the best option to eat. They start by serving you a shot of some sort of alcoholic drink, which I did not get to know it’s name or origin. After ordering, they serve you a well balanced salad which was well seasoned. I had the moussaka with the garlic bread and Greek beer. The moussaka was very well prepared and the portion size was adequate. The bread was also very good. Closed off with coffee and they give you a licor shot in the end. These extras are on the house so I think it is a nice touch. Overall the price seems fair, considering the good service. Recommended!
