Salons, spas and fitness studios in Germany are best booked ahead, especially for evenings and Saturdays, and most now take bookings online or through WhatsApp as well as by phone. Agree the service and the price before you start, note that many salons close on Mondays, and tip 5-10% in cash if you are happy. Gyms usually ask for a 12- or 24-month contract, with the monthly rate falling the longer you sign up for, so read the cancellation clause.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

A weird experince. We booked an appointment and then when we got there they said that we didn’t have it, even though we got a confirmation email. There was just really bad communication.

I recently booked a 30-minute massage through USC, and my therapist was Vee. It was incredibly relaxing — exactly what I needed after a long week. Vee’s technique was smooth, professional, and deeply calming. Honestly, this has been one of the best massages I’ve had in Munich so far. I walked out feeling refreshed and completely stress-free. Highly recommended!

Absolute recommendation! The team is very kind and friendly. I had a 60 minute sports massage and came with a lot of tension in my leg muscles. The treatment was exactly what I needed, the masseuse paid a lot of attention to the areas that needed the most relieve. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing, I did not hear any noises from the street and the temperature in the room was perfect. I will definitely come back soon.

I agree with everyone saying they were very kind and friendly. I think it is true that at least some of them are less experienced, so beware if that is a requirement for you, but my masseuse was focused, and I was content. At least some of them speak English, and apparently some of them can massage harder than others, so consider mentioning when booking if that's important to you. I did not have any extras offered or hear any noise like was mentioned by at least one reviewer, and I was warm, so maybe that has changed since the review was left.
