Müller’sches Volksbad (Hallenbad) is a saunen in München, Bayern. It is listed at Rosenheimer Str. 1, 81667 München-Au-Haidhausen, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Salons, spas and fitness studios in Germany are best booked ahead, especially for evenings and Saturdays, and most now take bookings online or through WhatsApp as well as by phone. Agree the service and the price before you start, note that many salons close on Mondays, and tip 5-10% in cash if you are happy. Gyms usually ask for a 12- or 24-month contract, with the monthly rate falling the longer you sign up for, so read the cancellation clause.

Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 15:00–22:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

So good!! First of all, very beautiful architecture. Secondly, it's so clean! The staff are doing an amazing job. I felt really comfortable walking around barefoot, even in the toilets (I didn't take my bath slippers on this trip). Also, I really appreciated that there are signs and instructions for locker use in English. The staff are very helpful and proactive, asked me if I was ok when I was standing there looking a bit lost and accompanied me to show me around, and everyone spoke at least some English. This is mostly a place for locals but I felt very welcome as a tourist. The facilities are very good, the sauna feels amazing after doing some active swimming in the big pool. You have a 45° steam room, 40-60-80 hot air rooms with beautiful vaulted ceilings and tiling, and a Finnish sauna. There's this amazing contraption near the domed pool that sprays you very intensely with ice cold water from every direction. Then you can cool further in the cold water pool and come back to normal at the domed round pool where the temperature seems to be about the same as your normal skin temp. So pleasant and relaxing! Take your bath slippers because the floors can be very hot in the saun

Completely confusing key system. No further explanation at the entrance how to proceed. Usage of the normal price and the sauna ticket gives you a brown card that you can use for the mini locker with a brown key band next to the gate. If you have a M-Bäderkarte though you have to actually know that you need to get a key with a blue band. And with that band comes the next segregation/ 2 classes society: the cabins for those with brown bands are a the ground level next to the swimming pool with separate cabins, the blue bands are at the upper floor with no private changing rooms at all... When you make the mistake like me and go to the swimming pool in Monday the big swimming pool is also completely closed for the public and just open for members only... I just went there because the Michaelibad had renovation work for 2 weeks, but this is there worst swimming pool I've ever been in my life. When I asked the staff onsite if there's something beside a small 10x10m pool or something similar they told me with a grin that I made a mistake not getting Sauna on top and what I would expect of a swimming pool that's 150 years old. Well that's the only thing you can tell about it. It's old lo

I went for a swim here using my company wellpass and I was surprised that I can swim without extra charges. It would be convenient for me to go for a swim before or after work because it’s a few tram stop stations from my workplace as of the moment. I love the gothic, baroque style of the place. The swimming pools are longer than the other pools I’ve been to. However the rope that separates the Schwimmer/nicht Schwimmer in the smaller pool smells like 💩 and the molds on it are visible to the naked eye. Management needs to change it for hygiene purposes because many little kids and old people are swimming on that pool.

The pool is from year 1901, the retro style place will soothe you. You have to pay at the entrance with short time 90 min swimming (4.30 euro) or a day swimming plan (5.80 euro). Swimming costumes are compulsory. Friendly receptionist explained us everything. I will definitely recommend this place.

Stepping inside feels like traveling back to the last century — in the best way! I was pleasantly surprised by how well-preserved the changing rooms and facilities are, almost like swimming in a museum (in a fun way, haha). The pool is clean, the water feels fresh, and the staff are super friendly. There's even a sauna, steam room, and other amenities. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again!
