Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A very beautiful fountain (Fountain of Life), at the coal market. Surrounded by a few trees and open to the public. This is the work of sculptor Günter Mauermann (1985) and was erected at this location as part of a square redesign and beautification project. What you see is a granite sculpture of a large cup with a contemporary appearance, almost as if the cup were melting at its sides, giving the appearance of a grotto monument. There are spouts below the cup which spill into a similar grotto-like basin which further spills into four smaller corner basins on the ground level.

A very beautiful fountain at the coal market. Surrounded by a few trees and open to the public. One of the few fountains in the city center that is not fenced off. It's very interesting 👌

Lebensbrunnen (Fountain of Life) is a small fountain located at kohlenmarkt in the historic city centre of Regensburg. It is a unique fountain monument surrounded by trees that will provide shade and vibrant colour to the monument background during warmer months of the year. During our December visit, we enjoyed seeing the Christmas market stalls setup around Lebensbrunnen.
