Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Nürnberg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Relative to NYC sushi cost the menu is very reasonably priced. Also, I admit I was expecting more from KOKORO given the local hype. Yes, it’s good, and maybe in Nuremberg it’s even great, but I left a little disappointed. The food was fine but I was expecting to be delighted. Sat on the back patio, which is spacious and has an outdoor wedding tent vibe. Service was slow. Maybe because I was seated by myself and the staff prioritized the tables with larger groups but I was very aware of sitting for 15-20 minutes to get the beer I ordered. It was another 15-20 minutes after I asked for a check that someone wandered by and I had to request a check for the second time. Would I go again? Probably not. Did it scratch my sushi itch? Kind of.

We had a lovely experience at Kokoro and would definitely recommend it for a sushi date or a cozy dinner. The location is excellent, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Although the restaurant isn't very large, it never felt cramped or overcrowded. I also loved the thoughtful welcome area where you can leave your jacket and umbrella and even grab a gummy while waiting. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. The edamame and sushi platter were both fresh and very tasty. The only thing that surprised me was the Tom Yum soup—it was incredibly delicious, but much creamier and more coconut-forward than the traditional Tom Yum I expected. A special mention goes to the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the bathrooms, which were spotless and had lovely details like nice soap and a pleasant fragrance. Overall, a wonderful spot for a sushi date or a relaxed dinner with friends.

Best sushi in Nuremberg. The food was amazing, the drinks were great. The ingredients are super fresh and everything is delicious! We also loved the starters to share, they placed it on a beautiful plate for us, especially the tuna tataki with black sesame and shrimp pockets. Our service was attentive and fast. It‘s kind of loud in winter & you have to reserve on the weekends. But we love to come here since many years and it never disappoints! 💖
