Ein kleiner, niedlicher Turm mit historischer Geschichte in der Jaczoschlucht. Schade, daß immer wieder Schmierereien daran zu finden sind. Doch das ist heutzutage wohl typisch an Berliner Denkmälern. Irgendwie erinnert der Turm an den Juliusturm auf der Zitadelle Spandau.

Etwas versteckt in der Jaczo Schlucht liegt dieser "historische" Turm. Am besten kommt man dorthin , wenn man gegenüber vom SOS Kinderdorf parkt und der Ausschilderung zur Jaczo Schlucht folgt. Leider scheint die Informationstafel zur Geschichte des Turms abhanden gekommen zu sein...

Der Gegenpart von Schildhorn auf der anderen Uferseite von Havel, was immerhin eine Überquerung von ca. einem Kilometer für Jaczo bedeutet.

I supose very few people knows that Berlin was founded by Slovian people, not by Germans. It was also a place were Slovians revolted against Christianity and stopped Christianisation of this area for 200 years. This tower was founded by a civilian person in memory of Slovian prince Jaczo, the last one who was against Christianity. There is a legend regards his last fight.

Der Jaczoturm liegt am Eingang der gleichnamigen Schlucht. Eine Informationstafel gibt Auskunft über das Schicksal des Wendenfürsten, dem bei Schildhorn ein Denkmal gesetzt wurde. Die Schlucht kann man zu Fuß oder per Fahrrad gut von der Gatower Str. durchqueren und gelangt zum Havelufer.
