Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. Getting around Berlin is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Berlin and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

If you are interested in the history of Germany from the WWII to the Cold War, this place is truly recommended. A huge impressive memorial built after the war to commemorate the Soviet soldiers who faught against Nazi Germany. Very clean and meticulously manteined. Truly recommended. Ps: it is full of Soviet propaganda, which reaches its peak with Stalin's quotations. You have to take it with a pinch of salt of course!

Beautiful and very large memorial located in the Treptow Park. The memorial site consists of two main structures. The most noticeable is the large statue. Acces is free of charge, and the memorial is very accessible by public transport (S-Bahnhof Treptower Park and a bus stop nearby).

An absolute pleasure to see this soviet memorial in Berlin. The calm atmosphere and nice weather we enjoyed made this an even more pleasant visit. The place is generally well-kept and you learn a lot about everything that has happened.

Free to enter, very clean, and surrounded by a surprisingly quiet park. The Soviet War Memorial in Treptower Park is an impressive and historically significant monument dedicated to Soviet soldiers who died during the Battle of Berlin in 1945. The scale of the memorial is remarkable, with large stone sculptures, rows of sarcophagi featuring military reliefs, and the iconic statue of a Soviet soldier holding a child while standing over a broken swastika. Even if you're not particularly interested in history, it's worth visiting for the atmosphere alone. The surrounding park is peaceful and well-maintained, making it a nice place to relax, take a walk, and escape the noise of the city. The memorial's size and symbolism leave a strong impression and offer a glimpse into a complex chapter of European history.

This is a pretty place. It’s well built and well maintained. It is basically built for those who died fighting Germany (regardless of which side), and boasts USSR propaganda. There have been multiple requests for its demolition but basically it remains as a truce between Germany and Russia so Russia will maintain German graves and monuments in Russia.

Absolutely must see for all those with interest in WW2. The memorial is very spread out, but not over the top- its actually muted & rather classic. Lots of sculpture and bass reliefs to see. Must visit if you can. Major major combat ops ended with this Memorial. Very Well done

This memorial is dedicated to the many thousands of those killed fighting the 3rd reich and people want it removed? People have zero critical thinking skills any more and these reviews prove it. The fact this is allowed to be here isn’t promotion of horrors, it’s remembering them so they don’t happen again, so that people can see them and reflect, so that people can see how ridiculous some of the quotes are, because some of us who can think critically understand them and can still be against them without wanting to bulldoze the place.

An enormous monument in the middle of Treptower park surrounded by long symmetrical pathways. Everything is designed to guide you forward, almost like a procession. It doesn’t invite you to wander casually; it makes you walk with purpose. The central statue has powerful symbolism and it is quite impressive by its scale. Additionally, the place is not just a memorial but rather a cemetery as well as there are many red army soldiers buried there. This is a place that is definitely a must visit and it is a place that makes you reflect.
