Unterföhring is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

How about trying to find a place to stay that doesn’t have a receptionist who drinks on the job and could potentially call the cops on you and put your life in danger over a small misunderstanding. This is what happened to traveling musicians at this establishment.

Came here with my band to play the jazz festival - we were put up in this hotel (although the festival is not associated with this incident). The original receptionist put in the rooming list incorrectly, which led the very drunk night receptionist to yell and threaten to call the cops on someone in our traveling party who was black if he didn’t leave immediately at 4am. He was so loud that he woke up another member of the band and refused to listen to either of us when we said we had all checked in together the previous afternoon with no issue whatsoever, and that there were numerous witnesses to this. A clerical mistake shouldn’t be the reason somebody is racially profiled and threatened. Our band member was incredibly hurt and dejected by this incident, Not to mention felt afraid for his safety. This is an unsafe hotel, and this receptionist (who worked late night until 6am on July 17th-morning of the 18th) should be fired.

Perfect hotel. Great price, fab breakfast, clean rooms and really helpful staff. Also has a bar with nice cold beer on tap! Around a 10 min walk from the S-Bahn station, with direct trains to the airport and central Munich (both about a 20-25 min train ride). Also on bus routes. A lot cheaper (and quieter) than staying more central. A few restaurants nearby and a short walk to the canal and river.
