About Hostel Sofia

Hostel Sofia is one of the hostels listed in Nürnberg, Bayern. The business is registered at Holzschuherstraße 27, 90439 Nürnberg; use this page to check its opening hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

Opening hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Nürnberg keep standard hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on the weekly Ruhetag, on Sundays and over the Christmas and Easter holidays. You can reach Hostel Sofia on 0176 70284096; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is hotelsgerman.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

With 3.6 out of 5 on Google from 48 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for hostels in Nürnberg. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Nürnberg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I arrived in Nürnberg and there was a mistake with my reservation at a hotel near the central station. There were no vacancies and, in the whole town, only luxury rooms for 300+ euros per night were available, due to a trading fair. I found this modest hostel, where they charged me only 35 euros and saved my trip. It’s true, it’s extremely basic but it’s clean, safe and the manager was very kind and always asked me if everything was fine. For that price, I really couldn’t ask for more. The location is very good, since it’s just a few minutes from a subway station. Thank you, Pension Sofia!
