Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–4 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 2605384. Its website is hoangjaa.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 290 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinesisch in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I really hate leaving bad reviews, but this was unfortunately a very underwhelming experience. Despite being seated quickly, it took nearly an hour to bring out our starters and another twenty minutes to bring our mains, with several people who arrived and ordered long after us receiving their dishes first. We were both vegetarian and had ordered all dishes with tofu and even double checked with the waitress. Despite this, my dish came out with chicken in it and, after waiting so long, I did not have enough time before my train to request a new dish so I just took the chicken pieces out, which earned a side eye from the waiters. The bill also contained charges for drinks and starters we hadn’t had, and our request to get the bill and a box for takeaway when we received our mains was ignored as well.

We visited with our 10-month-old daughter. The food was mediocre—nothing particularly good or bad, just average. Unfortunately, our experience at the end of the meal completely overshadowed the food. We left two wet napkins on the table that we’d used to wipe down our baby. An older Asian gentleman, who I believe may have been the owner, began loudly scolding us, saying, “Not in Deutschland.” We immediately laughed, picked up the napkins, and asked if there was anything else we should take care of. Instead of letting it go, he continued berating us. I even jokingly offered to come back and wash the dishes, but he kept going. The reaction to two wet napkins was completely disproportionate and made us feel very unwelcome. If something this minor causes that much frustration, hospitality may not be the right line of work. Families, especially those with young children, should know they may not feel welcome here. If you’re deciding between restaurants in the area, I’d recommend the Vietnamese restaurant down the street instead. We had a much better experience there, and the food tasted fresher and made with higher-quality ingredients.

Delicious vegetarian food options. Price was very low. The restaurant was almost full so it took bit time to get my ordered food. The waiter was not so friendly. But the other lady at reception was smiling and friendly. Other than that, highly recommended for travellers.

Strongly recommended !! Outstanding !! I would love to visit them again, when I will find the chance. The best Vietnamese main course I have ever eaten. Absolutely amazing flavors. A nicely decorated and organized place. The service is friendly and personal recommendations are available for you. The portions are good. Walking distance from Marien platz.
