I first experienced the friendliness and amazing service that is Herman’s Sauna at the Babylon cinema (Rosa Luxembour Platz) in Berlin during the Finlandia cinema festival. From the very first to the last moment, the experience was tended to and extremely smooth. He was tending the fires with fresh wood in all three saunas over the course of 5 hours for multiple days in a row, seemingly completely alone but always with a gentle smile on his face. He was making sure the buckets were filled with water and decently scented with a subtle amount of essential oils, so that the sauna goers could independently pour that over the constantly hot coals. I went multiple times over the course of a week and the facilities continued to function and be clean each time. His attention to detail was great too - he set out a clock so people could see when it was time to head to the movie, he had pleasant music playing at a perfect non-intrusive volume in the background, and had a string of fairy lights strung from one of the three saunas lining the street to the building hosting the event. Perhaps some day I will use his services for my own event, as I am confident it would be a pleasant experience,
