About Ginger Asian Food
Located at Josephsburgstraße 95, 81673 München-Berg am Laim, Ginger Asian Food operates as a chinesisch serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 am–3 pm. It is closed on Saturday. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 41338770. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 333 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinesisch, thai, vietnamesisch & indisch in München.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

This is exactly the kind of neighbourhood gem Munich needs more of. A family-run spot near Trudering, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food tells a different story. The pho was warming and well-balanced, the maki rolls were fresh with generous fillings, and the wok chicken was satisfying without being heavy. The sushi quality genuinely surprised me, definitely not something you expect to find at this scale, in this part of town. The couple running it are warm and helpful. You feel the care that goes into the cooking. For a local Asian restaurant that spans Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese dishes, the consistency is impressive.

We ordered the S101 sushi set along with number 22 (udon noodles with chicken) and it was one of the freshest and tastiest sushi we have ever tried for a long time in Munich. Restaurant in the city never actually had tasty sushi but always overpriced ones. Here Udon noodle was big enough to make 2 people full. But the sushi was the big winner for us. Handmade rolls with generous fillings and perfectly cooked rice… It was our first time but we will definitely come back to this nice family-owned restaurant. The place is a bit further away from the city center but it worths to travel and order to go. I hope they stay the same and keep the quality food!

Ginger is a small Vietnamese restaurant run by a passionate chef. The place has 3-4 indoor seating tables. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We called for a Peking Soup and Tom Kha Gai soup. Both had adequate flavours and were served warm We shared a portion of the Gyoza with Chicken. In my opinion, this was average at best. We really enjoyed the mains and probably is the best bet here. The red curry with chicken was full of flavour as was the Teriyaki Chicken rice bowl. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommended. The pricing is very reasonable and makes up for the average starters and soups (hence the 5-star instead of 4).
