Awesome food, really good wine. I picked a red one; the deer was exceptional, and the pork shoulder too. I was sceptical about the German food, but it was worth it. If you pass through Würzburg, you should definitely give it a try.

It worth trying Schweineschäufele ithat s a traditional in Franconia (Bavaria). While often mistaken for pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe), it’s actually a roasted pork shoulder on the blade bone, with the skin left on. It is slow-roasted until the meat falls apart with a fork, while the skin gets crispy golden crackling.

Very beautiful restaurant with a nice terrace overlooking at the bridge and river. The food here was very nice; the fillet was well worth having! The tuna tartar was also nice. I would come back again.

I had a great time here, just drinking wine! I was not sitting down, just grabbed my wine and drank it on the historical bridge. Am I even allowed to write a review here, though I didn’t eat anything? Mir Wurst! If they were not providing “wine to go”!here, I would have spent my afternoon thinking how much I’d like to drink wine while gazing at this fabulous scenery!

Dinner with THE view of Fortress Marienberg and the iconic Main Bridge, but also with incredibly slow and rather inattentive service. After being warmly welcomed (only table inside on a slower Sunday evening) and seated by a gentleman, our early arriving party was not offered drinks/served until the missing two joined way later: our waitress wasn’t busy, but just didn’t seem to care. Food was freshly prepared, well presented and tasty, but missing the wow factor given the hefty price tag. Appetizer portions are on the small side.
