Located at Kaufingerstraße 1-5, 80331 München-Altstadt-Lehel, GALERIA München Marienplatz operates as a kaufhäuser serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Before you visit a store like this one, it helps to know what you are looking for and roughly what it should cost; asking for the exact model or brand avoids confusion. Trading hours are set by each state: most shops open Monday to Saturday and close on Sundays and public holidays, with bakeries on Sunday mornings, petrol stations and station shops as the exceptions. Late opening in city centres usually ends at 8 pm.

Opening hours are published for 1 day a week. The most common schedule is 09:30–20:00. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 231851. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, galeria.de.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 12,099 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect before you commit to a visit.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Person on the till wanted to publicly have an argument about water we purchased elsewhere when buying confectionary. The lady made it abundantly clear to everyone in the near vicinity that we hadn't paid for water in our possession and demanded we show till receipts. My wife repeated herself on three occasions it was bought elsewhere and upon ignoring her and I said go and look at the CCTV footage of us entering the store with the bottles, which she wouldn't even look at me. If you want your staff to have a public argument and make false accusations, maybe they shouldn't be working in a customer facing role. Teach your staff a bit of common sense and respect because we won't come back after that treatment.

Ate at der stöckmeier just off the sqare. Had schweinshaxe and knödeln. Dumplings were good sauce was also good the pork was overcooked and dry. Like christmas vacation turkey dry! No effort made to replace or offer another option, I got a half-hearted apology from the waiter.

Reasonable prices with everything you could need. Mixed customer service experience - when we purchased our sweatshirts, the cashier didn't apply the discount. Not trying to damper our vacation from them thinking we didn't notice. The deal made up for the service.

Today we bought a watch worth around 300€ but the service man was not at all friendly. We clearly wanted to buy a watch, he was just getting irritated and making faces when we were trying watch. I think seeing us as Indian he was not at getting irritated. After 15 mins we decided to buy one watch and he just handed us without even setting the correct time, even didn't do it when asked. He just wanted to get rid of us. On other hand another lady was selling 200€ watch to German lads. She was so smiling polite and set the watch time before handling them. Behavior difference were clear. For us he just handed out the Box even i had to ask for a bag, otherwise he was not at all interested to give. His job is to sell watch and let ppl try it and be polite. We couldn't experience this at all. Next time we would prefer another outlet to buy. We don't want a cold treatment even after buying a product!

Marienplatz is the beating heart of Munich, where history and modern energy meet under the watchful eye of the golden Mariensäule. The Neues Rathaus stands as a gothic masterpiece, drawing every gaze with its intricate stone carvings and the charming rhythm of the Glockenspiel. Whether it's the buzz of the Christkindlmarkt or a sunny afternoon by the Fischbrunnen, the square radiates a warm, communal spirit that welcomes locals and travelers alike. As a central hub, it serves as the perfect starting point to explore the city’s soul, offering a vibrant atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate.
