Wir waren zu zweit in der Fürstlichen Schatzkammer in Regensburg und waren wirklich positiv überrascht. Es gibt dort viele sehr schöne und interessante Ausstellungsstücke, die mit viel Liebe präsentiert werden. Man bekommt einen tollen Einblick in die Geschichte und es gibt einiges zu bestaunen. Ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön geht an die Dame am Eingang bzw. an der Kasse. Sie war sehr höflich, freundlich und hat uns direkt herzlich empfangen. So ein netter Umgang fällt heute wirklich positiv auf. Auch allgemein hat uns der Besuch sehr gut gefallen. Alles war schön gestaltet und absolut sehenswert.

There is a small portion on display of the enormous wealth acquired by the Thurn und Taxis family over centuries as principal postmasters of Europe. Originally from Italy the family started in the late 13th century a courier service which grew to be an extensive network, sanctioned by the royals and making them royals themselves in the 17th century. One ticket gets you to see three parts.

A decent add-on to the Thurn and Taxis 'palace'. It's a great museum showing pure, unadulterated extravagance when money no longer has meaning. Examples are: a servant coat and waistcoat with dozens of multi-diamond chains and diamond buttons, dinnerware of gold, silver dinnerware, jeweled snuff boxes, gilded clocks... Any one of these would be an item most people couldn't even dream up out of their imaginations, much less purchase or display. There is an English audio guide since display tags are written in German.

Toll gemachte Ausstellung und ein kurzweiliger Besuch voller schöner Schätze in tollem Zustand und mit Darstellung des geschichtlichen Hintergrundes. Ich fand die Ausstellung spannend und kurzweilig, der Eintrittspreis war auch angemessen. Auch die Sammlung an Wagen & Kutschen, die in einem super Zustand dort aufgereiht sind, bieten einen tollen Einblick in die damalige Zeit!

A museum displaying a small fraction of the wealth of the Thurn und Taxis family. The Thurn und Taxis family are an aristocratic family who were involved in the postal service of the Holy Roman Empire and who grew very wealthy as a result. Some of their treasures can be seen here. There is a lot of wealth on display.
