Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Regensburg Cathedral Treasure Museum is located in the historic rooms of the Bishop's Court, in the immediate vicinity of St. Peter's Cathedral. Over many centuries, valuable art objects were donated to the cathedral chapter by wealthy benefactors. But over the centuries, the Regensburg cathedral treasure was repeatedly destroyed, looted, melted down to renew liturgical objects or even sold in the event of financial bottlenecks. However, the entire cathedral treasure was never completely destroyed, so that an impressive contemporary testimony from almost 1000 years of church history has been preserved to this day. These include such extraordinary pieces as a chasuble from the Salian period, the so-called Wolfgang's chasuble, or the oldest documented object in the cathedral treasury, the so-called Wolfgang's bowl from the early 12th century. The precious crucifixes, monstrances, chalices and bishop's staffs are evidence of the liturgical splendor of past centuries.
