For a night out or a family day in Regensburg, venues like this one are best checked for opening times and events on the day itself, since programmes change. The season matters: beer gardens open from April into October, Christmas markets run through Advent, and open-air cinemas and festivals fill the summer. U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run through the night at weekends in the big cities, with night buses elsewhere, so plan the trip home.

As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 0941 5073442. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is regensburg.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 20 reviews, which is a strong result for a museen in Regensburg and suggests consistent service.

Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Regensburg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Jewish Heritage Tour Guide in Regensburg, Germany Regensburg’s Jewish community is one of the oldest in Germany (documented from the 10th–11th centuries), flourished as a medieval center of learning, was violently expelled and its medieval synagogue destroyed in 1519, saw returns and modern re-establishment in the 19th and 20th centuries, suffered under Nazism (1912 synagogue destroyed in Kristallnacht), and since the 1990s–2010s has rebuilt visible memorials and a modern synagogue and community center. Origins and medieval heyday (≈10th–13th centuries) Written records show Jews in Regensburg from at least the late 900s–11th century, and a distinct Jewish quarter (ghetto) by the 1100s. The city became a major center of Ashkenazi learning (yeshivot). Famous medieval figures connected to Regensburg include Judah ben Samuel of Regensburg (Judah the Pious, d. 1217), leader of the Chassidei Ashkenaz pietist movement, and Petachiah of Regensburg (a medieval traveler and chronicler). These scholars underline Regensburg’s cultural importance in Jewish intellectual life. The first medieval synagogue was built c.1210–1227 near today’s Neupfarrplatz; Albrecht Altdorfer made etchings of it
