München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Great event! The TUM showed the new Aladdin movie (2019) and it was amazing! Huge screen, good sound, only 3 euros for a ticket, you can bring your own dinner/snacks/drinks and the audience was very compassionate. Definitely a nice evening out! I hope the TUM will keep playing a lot of OV movies, especially in English for the international students under us.

Very fun to see. They also sell some food and beer and very cheap prices. The only problem is that the sound quality was horrible. I couldn't understand a thing. You can bring food and drinks and whatever you want. It's more for going and watching a silly movie while eating and drinking beer than for a great cinematic experience I would say.

Watched Feuerzangenbowle, wow, the germans can be relaxed and funny if they want. It was terrific! Hipe to see the movie again, it seemed interesting.

Great stuff! Be sure to come an hour early to get the tickets and good seats. Also bring beer(s) and some snacks! :) SUZAN!

Movie club of the TU München, open to anyone not just students! The theatre is an actual lecture hall, so wooden seats with no cushion, but a great view no matter how tall the person in front of you is ;) Great prices: Usually €3 for a ticket (except for double features or other specials), drinks and snacks start at €1. You can also bring your own drinks (even crates of beer!) and food, as long as you don't make a mess. Quite noisy with lots of commentary from the audience, so don't go if you haven't seen the movie before or really want to pay attentation. Most movies are in German, check if the program lists it as "OV" (original version) to get an English showing -- watch out for ÖV with umlauts, though, that's the Österreichische Version (Austrian).
