For a night out or a family day in Nürnberg, venues like this one are best checked for opening times and events on the day itself, since programmes change. The season matters: beer gardens open from April into October, Christmas markets run through Advent, and open-air cinemas and festivals fill the summer. U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run through the night at weekends in the big cities, with night buses elsewhere, so plan the trip home.
Opening hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 9 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Nürnberg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

It is pretty much the railway history and how far the railway system has improved over the years in Germany and what era started the trend.

A very interesting and well-organized museum that is definitely worth visiting — not only for railway enthusiasts, but also for anyone interested in the history of technology, transport, and the development of Germany. The Deutsche Bahn Museum in Nuremberg pleasantly surprises with how detailed and visual its presentation of railway history is: from the first locomotives and old carriages to modern trains and technologies. What I especially liked is that the exhibition does not feel boring or “only for specialists.” There are many real exhibits, models, historical details, documents, and interactive elements. You can calmly walk around, look at the trains, read the information, and gradually understand how strongly the railway influenced the economy, cities, travel, and everyday life. I would also like to highlight the atmosphere of the museum. The old locomotives and carriages look very impressive, and standing next to them you really feel the scale of that era. Some exhibits create the feeling that you are being transported into the past. It is clear that the museum was created with respect for history and great attention to detail. The museum is also very suitable for visitin

German Railway Museum is a must place to visit We had a really enjoyable visit to this railway museum. It's a great place for anyone interested in trains, history, or simply looking for something different to do. The collection is impressive, and there are plenty of interesting exhibits about the history of German railways. Unfortunately, most of the information is only available in German, but the displays are still easy to appreciate and explore. One of the highlights is that some train cars and railway exhibits can actually be entered, which makes the experience much more interactive. During our visit, we also saw educational group tours for children, which looked like a fun and engaging way to learn about trains and transportation history. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket counter, and card payment is accepted. There is a convenient cloakroom area for jackets and coats. If you are carrying a larger bag or suitcase, just ask at the counter and they can provide a separate locker key. Overall, it's a well organized museum with lots to see. Whether you're a train enthusiast or just curious, it's definitely worth a visit.

I made this trip with 5 kids. They enjoyed it. However it was a bit of boring after the train experience. We arrived at Kibala (kids play area at most top level) too late, 10min before closing time at 5. Thus my kids disappointed. So, i think visitors with kids can just take a quick look at the museum and head straight to Kibala for exciting playaround.

We visited the DB Museum in Nuremberg and had a great experience. It’s very kid-friendly, with interactive areas and train-themed play spaces that children will love. The museum showcases the history of trains in Germany with real locomotives and engaging exhibits. It also includes sections on World War II, adding an educational and historical perspective. Great for rainy days.
