Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Würzburg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Decent hotel just in the heart of the city. Friendly personnel, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast for EUR 15 per person (summer 2026) and parking for EUR 10 per night but the garage can accommodate not more than 4-5 cars, only. The room does not have fridge in the room but has air comditioning. I don't care about TV set but our twin-bed room had a large flat screen. Würzburg Rezidenz is at 10 min walking. The old city area start right from the hotel.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel! Its small and off to the side in a quiet but very central street. It's close to all that Wurzburg has to offer. The staff are fantastic and are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are the perfect size and the bathrooms are spacious, clean and modern. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of room for all your things. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it highly to anyone.

Central Hotel is ideally located for visitors to Würzburg who want to spend time walking in the Altstadt, the Old City. It's near the Marienkapelle and the market in Marienplatz, the Falkenhaus, and the Dom and is an easy walk from the Alte Brücke. Lots of wonderful restaurants are also within walking distance. Rooms are reasonably priced at Central Hotel, but are not by any means luxurious. They're clean if spartan, and if you have a room facing onto the street, as we did, you'll unfortunately have to contend with lots of street noise. There'a breakfast buffet included with the room fee. It's good, and the staff helping get coffee for guests in the breakfast room couldn't be more polite and helpful -- in contrast to the staff at the front desk. On the day we had breakfast at Central, there was a nice variety of cold cuts and cheeses, along with stuffed eggs, Würstsalat, platters of cherry tomato halves in an herbed vinaigrette dressing, olives, cubes of feta cheese and mozzarella balls, in addition to a number of kinds of breads and jams. The two photos below were taken in the breakfast room.
