München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

I recently aquired a Faberge jewelry and Sibylle was amazing in supporting me. She gave me great advice that I’m happy I followed to chose a different more practical and versatile piece. They didn’t have on stock what I wanted so they ordered it. Left 2k down payment and waited for them to come back to me once the piece had arrived. My biggest surprise was the day I went to collect the jewelry when I was told I actually have to pay 300€ less than was initially told because in the meantime the piece of gold had gone down. I was stoked with joy. But more importantly I was impressed with their fairness. They could have chosen not to tell me since my assumption was that the price is set. This made my whole experience even more positive. Their attention to details, making sure that the advice I received was in line with what the noticed was my fashion style was refreshing. It’s what you expect when you purchase a piece like this. Very pleased.

Although this is supposed to be a traditional, well-established shop in the very centre of Munich, I would definitely advise you to avoid it if you are looking for a jeweller that offers a respectful and professional consultation. While some of the staff were polite and helpful, others immediately started yelling and behaved in a very disrespectful manner. I was treated as if I were a nuisance rather than a customer. The shop does not offer even a basic diamond testing service, so do not waste your time going there if you want to have a stone tested. When I asked for a diamond test, one of the older consultants insulted me by saying that “because of people like you, the jewellery business is dying.” I thought I am not asking for anything special, but simply whether they could test a stone I had bought elsewhere, as I had some doubts. I made it clear that I was willing to pay any required fee. That said, my experience was extremely unpleasant. If consultants treat customers this way, it is no surprise that many people prefer to shop online or elsewhere.

The experience of choosing a wedding band was very good - staff is professional and there is a great selection of bands. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful experience at Carl Thomass in the heart of Munich. The team was incredibly helpful and friendly; they even helped repair an item that I had not even purchased through them—quickly and thoroughly as I was traveling the next day. Their pride in their work was readily apparent. And needless to say their pieces were all beautiful. If you are shopping jewelry in Munich, you must certainly include them on your list!
