München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Great location - close to city and easy commute, 5km by gravel tracks to Olympic park, 10k to city centre. Pitches are tiny, but everyone gets on with it and it seems to work. Facilities are surprisingly clean considering the volume of people there.

I booked this without checking reviews .. big mistake. We'd always had great experiences in Germany with camp sites so didn't think to worry. This is probably one of the worst "camp sites" we've ever stayed in. It's just a car park. You park up in your space, the van next door is a few feet away. It's literally just a car park. You set up your table and chairs in your parking spot (very limited space) and eat your breakfast staring at the side of the van next door. Even worse, the woman at reception is incredibly rude and hostile. We pulled in and she shouted "you're late". We weren't. We gave our name to check in and she just shouted "you're late" again. We'd driven a long way, this was not a nice way to arrive. The showers need tokens, the kitchen needs coins, no fridge, there's a vending machine for cold drinks, but what you get is not the picture on the button. It's a real shame because the location is good. Easy bus/U into Munich and a lovely swimming lake only a short bike ride away.

Camping pitch was like being in a car park, had to wait to leave site at 8am when reception opened for them to read meter. Not very accommodating and quite rude. Charged 5 euros for extension lead as boxes not by pitch and was not informed before hand as could of bought our own. No access to plug in on your own and then charged for connection fee. The only good side, facilities very clean and onsite bar and restaurant excellent. Easy access for bus and tram connection into Munich.

Pleasant staff. Restaurant is good although menu is small in off season. Dogs allowed in restaurant. Good laundry facilities -washer and dryers. Gravel sites are adequate. showers are roomy.

• Good place to stay, partly in the wood - so birds, squirels, and nice atmosphere is around, but dont forget about angry insects :) • Price is good, especialy for Munchen area. • Have electricity and wasted gray water connections, but no drinking water connection to trailer. • You can also buy gas here aswell. • Wifi is avialable for additional cost. • Toilets are free. • Showers are available, but you need buy special coins to use shower (1 coin = 8 min of hot water. Than only cold) • Bus stop is exactly near the gates - so you can always travel anywhere in Munchen if you dont want to use your own car. • Have their own bar-restaurant with tasty food and beer. Opened only on evenings. • Talks english, answers on e-mails - so you can always book you stay. • Nice place in overal. 5 stars for this campingplats, and please dont forget thats not a 5-star hotel. Everything is pretty simple here.
