I have just had a consultance ! here today, and the officer refused to talk to me in English. A friend of mine with an excellent German knowledge accompanied me and, he raised his voice l, talking in an improper manner and cut the conversation, literally forcing us to go out! It has only barely been a month here and official places like this are not capable of doing their jobs properly. At the end he started to speak English so fluently after making me experience such a hard time telling about my situation. I feel so frustrated about it!

I scheduled my appointment online for anmeldung and got called within 5 min of my scheduled time. I was helped by the woman with the red hair and she was friendly, spoke English to me, & made sure to enter all the information correctly. It was a welcoming first experience with the Bürgeramt. I went though the doors near the H&M. Take the elevator on the right to the 4th floor and the Bürgeramt is right there.

I don’t know why people are getting so much low reviews on this office, from my experience twice they are all super friendly and speak proper English so there’s no obstacles in language problems. Everyone is just so nice and polite. I think respect is a mutual things so maybe learn some manner after u walk into a German office.

This Bürgeramt is notorious for being hard to find (instructions included). I just said "Halo!" to the cleaner and they instantly answered with "Bürgeramt?". Regardless, I am very satisfied with the service here. I was served by the staff at counter 6, who were very professional and friendly. I said I wanted to do registration in broken German, and they handle the process fully in English. They only accept a Giro card with PIN for payment here, I didn't ask about debit or credit card because my process was free of charge. --- 1. There are 2 entrances to WILMA Shoppen, north and south. The south entrance is the closest. The mall entrance is open from 10 AM, so don't enter from the mall entrance, go about 100m to the left to find the door with SUPERFIT and Haema Blutspendzentrum, and enter from that door. You may find several people with a gym bag going that way. 2. Inside, you just go straight until you see mailboxes on the right and 2 lifts on the left. 3. Outside of the lifts, you will see that the Bürgeramt is on the 4th floor, so press the up button. You can take either of the two lifts. 4. Inside the lift, press the 4 floor button. 5. On 4th floor, you will see Haema Blu

Despite the rough reputation of the Bürgeramt, I had an excellent experience here. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was called in almost exactly on time. The staff member that I worked with was extremely kind, answered all of my questions, and explained everything that I needed to do to finalize my process in detail. Overall, the process was extremely quick and I felt reassured that everything was properly taken care of. It's also easy to access and much less confusing than some of the other Bürgeramt locations throughout Berlin.
