Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 16:00–23:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Budike on 030 4260066; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, budike-berlin.de.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 1,007 reviews, which is a strong result for a deutsche in Berlin and suggests consistent service.

Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Omg!! No words can describe how amazing the food and service were! We didn’t have a table, but Nico the gentleman who helped us kindly seated us outside, even though I don’t think that’s something they usually do. We had a hamburger-style schnitzel with fries and roasted potatoes, a fresh salad, and apple strudel for dessert. Everything was exceptional! I would highly recommend this place!! 10/10 ❤️ I’m not good at taking pictures but believe me it was insane! 🥰

I’ve tried everything I wanted to eat in Germany, and this place was exactly the kind of local restaurant I’d been looking for. Great atmosphere, authentic food, and such a lovely experience. I absolutely loved it💖

Absolutely fantastic. Welcoming, friendly, delicious food and proper beer pours. I came here 4-5x during my 12day stay in Berlin

This spot is hands down the go-to place if you’re craving authentic schnitzel. The portion sizes are generous, and the schnitzel is cooked to perfection crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, just how it should be. But the real star of the menu has to be their pork knuckle. It’s legendary for a reason: the meat is incredibly juicy, with a perfect crackling on the outside that’s just mouthwatering.

Loved the grumpy waitress, was the epitome of old school German service. If you don't speak German you'd have to work very hard to win her over! Schnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce was tasty and affordable. Friend got the xxl schnitzel, as big as his head per photo....
