When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

Ingolstadt is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This little tucked away hotel, is amazing and the attention to detail from the lobby to the themed rooms was wonderful. The staff is attentive and caring, and the property is laid out beautifully. We stayed in the deluxe room, and it was the perfect size for an intimate evening with my wife. Our room had access to a balcony and it offered a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. When you go, don't forget to spend some time in their outside seating area...so peaceful!

We have stayed at Block Hotel & Living twice, and on both occasions we were very warmly welcomed. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was an absolutely fantastic room. The only minor downside was that it wasn’t possible to connect to the TV to watch streaming services like Netflix, HBO, or Amazon Prime — honestly the only thing I could point out. Everything else was excellent. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The cocktails were outstanding — especially the “Bathtub Cocktail,” which was easily a 10/10. The rest were also very good. We will definitely be coming back again, hopefully many times in the future. I also have to mention that they offer one of the best breakfasts in the entire area.

Fast and friendly Check-in. Nice room but not with a nice view. Lovely Breakfast, with Eggs freshly fried to taste and served with a smile. For the evening Sundowner the Bar has a nice collection of Whisky and Whiskey. Very friendly Bartender/Lady serves nice cocktails too. All in all a very rewarding experience.
