Medical services in Bayern range from neighbourhood practices to university hospitals. Bring your insurance card, any previous test results and a list of medications you take. Your Hausarzt (family doctor) is normally the first stop and issues the referral (Überweisung) that specialists and hospitals ask for. München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I had a bad experience here. Very unfriendly doctors or receptionists.

Miguel Diaz Edited 5 years ago

The review is due the non polite treat from the reception, and the misinformation of the English language for communication. It was not a good experience. Now they replied to my initial review with some incorrect information. I had an appointment made by email. In the page of my insurance they state that the praxis speaks English which is not true. I informed the receptionist that I do not want the tests, I did not just walked out, and it was mainly because I was not able to communicate with the doctor so no point for more tests. she was on the phone the full time I tried to spoke to her.

"Wir sprechen Deutsch hier!" is what the grumpy medical assistant lady in reception says when you ask if there is an english speaking colleague to help. The assistants seem to be always in a hectic situation and irate towards patients. On the upside, the physicians have manners, even if they are members of the "waitandsee" tribe like most German md's are.
