My friends and I were looking for a good place to grab some breakfast near the Cathedral. Noorhaus was highly regarded and exactly what we were looking for. A small café, Noorhaus serves a nice selection of coffees, a small food menu, and sweet treats. The inside is really cute, but be warned it is extremely small. There isn’t much space to sit inside and it is quite tight! But you can get food to-go or take it outside to eat across the street. The service was good and they were trying to be as efficient as possible. Food comes out within about 15 minutes of ordering, coffee takes about 10. I ended up ordering the Nordic Bite, a cappuccino, and a piece of their Noorhaus Bread. The Nordic Bite includes avocado, smoked salmon, and scrambled eggs, served with country bread and butter. This was a filling, delicious breakfast plate. The avocado was fresh, the smoked salmon was perfectly salty, and the scrambled eggs were so fluffy. I really enjoyed this plate as it was very balanced and satiating. The Noorhaus bread was essentially a slice of a croissant-banana bread type of loaf. It had some fruits in it and wasn’t overly sweet—which I appreciated. This was good, but not a must try. M

NOORHAUS Coffee was my favorite coffee stop in Cologne. I came right after breakfast so didn’t try the food, but everything I saw coming out looked great, and the pricing seemed very reasonable for the quality. For such a small space, it’s surprisingly quiet, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your coffee. If you’re a coffee lover, this should definitely be on your list.

A small cafe located a few minutes' walk from Cologne Cathedral. We chose it for breakfast. They don't offer very large portions. The food they do offer was tasty. Seating is limited. It's a small, family-run business. They operate on a self-service basis. They have a small and charming shop.
