This is a nice hotel in a decent location and I’d certainly stay again. The welcome at reception was friendly and checking in was competed quickly. A lot of the corridors and communal areas feel more like an art gallery, but that adds a unique vibe. The room was a good size and comfortable for a three night stay. The bed was large, but made from two singles and separate duvets, which might not suit everyone, but it was comfortable. Electric sockets were present at both sides, the air-conditioning was effective and the lighting had some nice different options. It was nice for the bathroom to have a separate bath tub and shower, which was very large, although storage area around the sink wasn’t huge. The bar on the ground floor was large with really friendly and efficient staff, but didn’t feel the cosiest of places to relax after a day exploring. Overall it was a very comfortable hotel and the location worked brilliantly for a first visit to the city - I’d stay again!

We always choose this hotel whenever we visit Cologne, which probably says more than anything else — it’s become our regular spot for good reason. The staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, the rooms are always clean and a great size, the breakfast is excellent, and the location is hard to fault. That said, this stay had a couple of hiccups. We were travelling with a baby and needed to keep milk refrigerated. Unfortunately, the fridge in our room wasn’t working. The staff were very accommodating and kindly offered to store it in their fridge, which we really appreciated. The only slight issue was that when we requested it later, it took over an hour to arrive. Under normal circumstances this would be mildly inconvenient — with a screaming baby, however, it feels closer to an endurance event. To their credit, they did have someone come and replace the mini fridge the following day, which was dealt with quickly and appreciated. The air conditioning also seems to have a long-standing philosophical objection to actually conditioning air. With windows that don’t open, the room became warmer than ideal. We have such fond memories of our stay! We loved the warm, stylish seventies vibe and the incredibly attentive staff. The rooms were cozy and the sleep was great. The breakfast was a real highlight—I'm already craving it! Plus, the location was perfect for exploring, with easy access to markets and transport. A truly flawless experience!"
