So the new rule now is, when you return a gas bottle you cannot get back your deposit which you paid in cash to Obi. No, you can now only get an obi voucher. This is malpractice.

I went to the OBI on Niehler Str. to buy varnish, a brush, and sandpaper for my home. I also wanted new wheel covers for my car. They had everything except the covers. I asked a young employee near the register (in German), and he kindly told me they didn't have them, but the larger OBI in Mülheim did. He realized i was not german, and he didn't talk too fast which was kind from him. I drove there, arriving 30 minutes before closing. They had black and white covers. I asked the cashier if I could step just three meters outside to see which color matched my car better. She refused and made me buy one of each, return the one I didn't need, and then buy three of the correct color. I did as instructed, but when returning the black cover, another cashier spoke to me very quickly and rudely in German. I asked her to speak slower or in English, and she just said "nein" and spoke even faster. I understood her only through context and gestures. As I was changing the covers outside, the store was closing. The same woman came out, grabbed my old covers without asking, and I had to tell her to leave them because they were mine. Had click and collect, thought that it would be simply go to the teller, tell em my order, they had it for me there (it was 5 small vases), pay and leave. No, it doesn't quite work like that here. They had the same person doing 3 things: get customers orders, get the customers to pay for those orders and help a rookie teller. The place was quite busy so my experience was wait for 15 mins to get my order, give me a paper with it and ask me to go in and get my order on the other end, find an employee post with my order there, pick it up and walk all the way back, wait in line then for paying for the item in the express lane (which again the same employee is doing 3 things), pay and leave. So in total took me about 30 mins to pick up a small order I did online. I think it would have been much faster for me to go without this, find the vases, pay and leave. Something it a bit wrong with this express service. To not mention the lack of information about where the click and collect post was.

Went to the store looking for an item. On the internet page it said there were still 3 of these left, great! When I got there I could not find them, I asked the woman at the information counter and she told me she had no idea about it, and to talk with her colleague in the elektro area. I went there and looked for 5 mins, no colleague. No worker even in the 2 sections either side of elektro. After 10 minutes I stopped someone and asked and he told me if its not on the shelf they don't have it. Even when I could order it online to pick up at the store in 2 hours time. Cashier person was also very unpleasant as I bought a different item.
