Booked a car online 3 months in advance , was coming from ireland . I understand extras has to be paid for but . They tried to take 800 euro deposit from me when on my agreement said something else . The man was very rude . Did not have a good experience with this company in Germany in Cologne . - same car as I ordered in cologne I ordered in UK last year with only 250 pound deposit . - will not be renting from HERTZ AGAIN !

Shambles of a hire, booked months ago low behold car isn't available ask us to take a Renault instead of a polestar and they tried to charge us nearly 1000 for deposit, when in UK it's 200 with hertz..... Chaps may seem friendly but honestly they don't care about your reservation you pay what they decide on the day do not book with these they are useless

I tried to change the pick up time through Hertz's website, and it did not work. I got there to pick up the car 1 hour earlier, and the staff told me the car wasn't ready. The shop had no other customers. I asked them if it was possible to get the car ready in 15 minutes, and they said 'the system does not allow us to give the car earlier'. This is bizarre, in the digital age. Adding to that, I couldn't manage to return the car with 80% battery charged (which was required) because there was simply no superchargers available in Koln, and Hertz charged 1 euro per percentual point (per 1%) that was missing - which is a high price (Hertz has chargers in their parking lot).

To them - a Sedan and an SUV is same class... Booked an SUV through booking.com (they didnt accept responsibility as well) and received a sedan. Had to go on a long trip with family, and they said that these cars are same class. Had no other option. Miserabel service and they dont know how to speak English. Be very careful if you are a visitor.

Excellent service as always! My third year of renting from Hertz in Koln, with Melanie and Uwe providing a friendly professional service. Shame the cars they received from the distribution were not all the best quality, but definitely not their fault, and I would definitely rent here again
