Man muss es ihr lassen: So eine „herzliche“ Begrüßung erlebt man selten. Wenn man schon von der Inhaberin persönlich das Gefühl bekommt, unerwünscht zu sein, dann weiß man, dass hier auf Authentizität gesetzt wird. Man hat förmlich gespürt, wie sehr ich ihren Tag mit meiner Anwesenheit „bereichert“ habe. Fragen zu Produkten? Lieber nicht – ehrlich gesagt beeindruckend, wie konsequent die Kunst des Desinteresses zelebriert wird. Das schafft nicht jeder so mühelos!

Ich war auf der Suche nach verschiedenen Papierfarben und Grußkarten für eine kleine Bastelei und fand die Schaufensterauslage vielversprechend. Der Laden selbst bietet eine interessante Auswahl an Papeterie-Artikeln. Leider war die Beratung enttäuschend. Die Verkäuferin war wenig hilfsbereit und hatte offensichtlich kein Interesse daran, auf meine Wünsche einzugehen. Während des Gesprächs zum Bastelprojekt wurde das Telefon entgegengenommen, anstatt mir eine fachlich passende Lösung anzubieten. Auch als ich in Eigenregie ein farblich passendes Stück Papier fand, das perfekt für mein Projekt gewesen wäre, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass dieses „unverkäuflich“ sei, da es als „Trenner“ für andere Blätter genutzt wurde. Die mangelnde Hilfsbereitschaft und das Desinteresse der Verkäuferin trübten den Gesamteindruck des Ladens. Leider ein weiterer Einzelhändler, der trotz einer großen Auswahl die Gelegenheit verpasst, sich durch gute Beratung und Service von der (Online-)Konkurrenz abzuheben!

I wanted to buy a #RoterfadenTaschenbegleiter organizer and this is the only shop in Munich (to date) that sells them. The owner, Stephan, was extremely helpful and patient with me as I asked a lot of questions (in English) while I wandered about the shop. The shop carries high quality, beautiful items thoughtfully curated by a knowledgeable owner. There are beautiful papers, notebooks (including Leuchtturm1917, Moleskin, and the ones I bought: Ciak, made in Italy), writing tools, cards, wrapping papers and gifts. If you're feeling inspired to create or to write after visiting the nearby Pinakothek museums, this is a wonderful shop to explore and to make some memorable purchases. Don't let the lack of a beautiful website or social media presence deter you - think of it as an homage to the analog days when you relied on sensory experiences to purchase items at stationery stores. (If you're too young to know what that is, I highly recommend trying it). I will definitely return the next time I'm in Munich!
