Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Passau is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Brilliant beer and sausages. They have proper dark wheat beer, dark beer, white sausage, etc. not too expensive either. Great atmosphere too!

this was the second time that I visited this particular beer garden. I can still only speak in superlatives about the food, the environment, the service as well as the overall experience at this place. a particular big thank you should go to a waiter of Hungarian origin named Zsolt, who helped us communicating much more easily given that German language was and is not my strongest point.

Today, I kicked off my Saturday in style with a delightful Weißwurst (white sausage) breakfast directly at this lively local beer garden. Alongside the sausages, I savored a superbly warm pretzel and an extra helping of sweet mustard—a truly splendid start to the day. To top it off, a refreshingly delicious local Hefeweizen (yeast wheat beer) perfectly complemented the meal. Surprisingly, even the espresso, which can often be a miss in such casual settings, was pretty good, rounding off our hearty Bavarian breakfast nicely. My mom completed her authentic experience with a classic breakfast, thoroughly enjoying the traditional flavors. Though the nearby street traffic was quite loud, another round of beers helped us tune out the noise, turning the atmosphere from bustling to cheerfully lively. Our server, Samir, did a fantastic job; his attentive service ensured everything went smoothly. With great food, fine beer, and excellent service, we’re already planning our next visit back to this spot.

Stopped here for lunch on the Friday of a long weekend. The place was very busy but we were able to get a seat on the covered part of the beirgarden. Service was friendly and the food came quickly. Pikante riesen Currywurst was very yummy, although not spicy at all. We got the 2 wiener wurst with bread for our son as he loves hot dogs. Also got the Lowen-pfandl. This was on a skillet and enough to feed two people. Multiple slices of pork tenderloin baked together with cheesy spetzel and bacon in a bernaise sauce. Super creamy and flavourful.

We had the curry sausage which was very tasty, some appetizers shown on the pic which weren't so good.. we didn't expect it like that (~12€) and some other plate which tasted simply like salami, not bad not great. The pretzel was very tasty too. The beer was extremely good, especially the one that the restaurant produces. Beer was 4.40€/0.5L. For 4 beers and the mentioned plates we paid 50€ which I consider expensive for such dinner but okay.. Germany prices I guess.
